Xiaomi Redmi series delivers excellent quality smartphone, and value for money, and now the company is experimenting with another cheaper series named as Redmi 2A. This phone got announced today, and comes with different chipset–Leadcore Processor–and with the same hardware has the Redmi 2.
It houses the same 4.7 inch IPS display, 720P resolution, 8 GB internal storage, microSD expansion. Compared to the Redmi 2, which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, Redmi 2A comes with Leadcore L1860C SoC, which features a quad-core Cortex A7 CPU and Mali T628MP2 GPU, along with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM.
I do assume we will see a difference in performance, but keeping in mind that Xiaomi does a brilliant job in optimizing their software for the hardware, this cannot be predicted at all.
There is a 8-megapixel rear camera as well. Surprisingly there is no mention of Front camera as of now. This is also a 4G LTE phone powered by 2200 mAh battery. The phone is priced at which roughly translates to Rs 6000 in India. However, there is no announcement of the phone being launched in India, and we doubt it will be as Redmi 2 has been just announced and being sold through Flipkart.
The phone will be on sale in China from April 8th.
